While in Palm Springs I didn’t get the chance to tour much of its midcentury modern splendor, but I did enjoy this former Denny’s that the Ace Hotel has hipsterized. Dig the cantilevered roof and rock wall, baby.
When you visit, I highly recommend going for breakfast and getting the Moroccan scramble: Merguez sausage, soft scrambled eggs, spiced chickpeas, and crushed avocado served over grilled sourdough. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time.
OT: Food is a frequent topic around here. Any of the bloggers care to blog on today’s demotion of Per Se from four star restaurant to two stars, along with an often scathing review?

I saw that story. Unfortunately, since I haven’t been in a position lately to drop $1,500+, the closest I’ve gotten to a meal there is peeking in the door while wandering around the Time Warner Center.

I’ve never been either. And now I don’t think I’d bother. There are clearly better dining choices in New York.
