“Results of a study recently conducted at the University of Amsterdam show that those who are sexually aroused performed better in critical thinking tests than those who did not – that sex essentially makes you smarter.”
University of Amsterdam, eh? Was this study sponsered by the Amsterdam Tourist Bureau?
At least one other study found the opposite. At least, in men. Besides, this tells us what the capacity for sex does to our thinking (if it’s true), not what the practice of sex does. I’ve found that chastity improves decision-making exponentially.

Good question! Perhaps Uncouth Reflections should send a delegation to investigate.

“Reasons to live” is a great tag, btw. I need to use that more.

Being aroused doesn’t usually make my “critical thinking” side flourish, it tends to bring my more “appreciative” side to the fore.
