God I love/loved that era in movies. Took it completely for granted at the time, too. Every movie development since has felt weird and abnormal to me.

What’d you think of the movie? I recall not liking it a whole lot. Definitely a powerfully ’70s sort of thing, though.

I haven’t seen it actually, just liked the image. I assume it’s Altman’s take on PERSONA, right? Just checked Amazon and it’s available for rental so I’ll check it out soon.

Yeah, the whole thing is sort of Bergmanish. I remember thinking: “Boy, I’ve never really wanted to see Altman’s take on Bergman.” There are a lot of good things in it, though. All Altman is worth seeing, really.

Just watched it. A strange film. Can’t say I enjoyed it that much, but I was interested throughout. You’re totally right about the 70s-ness of it. Spacek and Duvall are both great.
