Been some time since I’ve seen this one. I always thought the arm on the creature was a bad stroke: it just doesn’t work for me. I would have liked it more fish-like, maybe a small fin but not that arm.
But the boat and the water are terrific, as is the perspective. But what — no nearly naked hot chick???

Good point about the arm. Actually, the monster is just generally unsatisfying, I think. The banger elements of the painting are the guy, the boat, and the waves.
