The level of attention to detail and care is what makes the world liveable.

It’s like the engraving above the doors on those old timey 19th and 20th century public libraries. It’s living in a world where people care about the small things, and by proxy, care about you.

Ikeification of our world…although probably done to death by others before me, is the killer of modern man’s aesthetic sensibility.

On the contrary, cheap IKEA stuff can be hacked and decorated extensively by anyone with the taste and skill to do so. The closer the item is to the exquisite Finnish design it rips off, the better, of course.

You do realize, I hope, that the tiles like the ones depicted above were likely reviled by an earlier set of aesthetes for being mass produced in a factory.

They say our children will fight battles over things that we do not even know exist yet.

It goes backwards into the past I guess, too!
