    Beautiful doorway.

I assume this is some sort of restaurant due to the tables on the right. I’m very against tables that close together.
I was at a chinese restaurant with my father the other day, and we were at a two person table, directly adjacent to a table with a large family. The mother was sitting on the end and she said something to my father when we sat down, and was clearly looking to talk to or be talked to by us, and was listening to our private conversation, and I couldn’t wait to leave.

It might be an American idiosyncratic desire for privacy that is unwarranted, but I think that’s why booths are superior for actual dining, although inferior on an aesthetic level.
