When the guys at the office don’t care if we win or lose, I’m sent downtown to make court appearances. One of the perks of going — besides getting out of the office — is the chance to see L.A.’s new Grand Park.
Here’s a map of the project, with the arrow showing the location where this picture was taken.
Last time I was there I didn’t have enough time to take many pics, but when I get a chance I’ll put together a montage to give you a better sense of the area.

LOVE L.A. City Hall. Such a big, bold, exhilarating, stylish thing: Deco streamlined Greek, or something. Info about it. Anyway: reminds me of some of the great old cars. A Cord, maybe.
The park itself … Hmm, I’m getting up-to-date academic-civic not-too-offensive vibes from it. Which isn’t necessarily awful — it’s radiating “could be worse!” to me. But I don’t read maps and plans that proficiently. Eager to see your snapz of the place. They’ll make more sense to me than the map does.

Re: city hall, it’s one of the essential noir buildings too, isn’t it? Every time I drive by, I can’t help but thing, “Down these mean streets a man must go who is not himself mean…”
As for the park, only the first section, the part between the County Courthouse and Hall of Administration, is open. I think the other two parts are slated to open very soon, though. I’m curious to see how it’s gonna work with two major streets running right down the middle.

Great building, makes me think of Jack Webb and martians.
