    I read recently (West Hunter?) that when the American Indians encountered the European explorers and settlers it was really an invasion from the future like you’d find in a science fiction movie, as the Europeans were about 4,000 years ahead of the Indians in terms of technology and civilization. It’s no wonder that things didn’t work out well.
