Enough to bring a tear to the eye, and not in a good way.

Do you happen to know where it is?

    • No, not sure where it is. I got it from Facebook, where it’s been making the rounds.

        Thanks, BE.

You know, the more I look at it, the sadder it makes me. It’s not just the overt degradation of personal freedom in so many petty ways; it’s also the random punctuation and capitalization, and the scattershot syntax, that speak of failed schools and indifference to learning and culture.

Can’t say it’s surprising by now. It came from the same population that’s just crawled through the weakest Fourth of July ever. Everyone was locked indoors all day long, no doubt with the nuclear family, circled around the TV playing some lame marathon of family-friendly reality TV.

I’ve never seen streets, front yards, and back yards so deserted. Hardly anyone at the handful of hang-out spots that were open (like coffee shops). No block parties. At least there were a couple groups setting off fireworks in the street tonight. No fireworks display at the main park here, unlike previous years (recession’s over). If there was a parade, I sure didn’t hear about it, notice it, or even pick up signs of its aftermath. Probably wasn’t even one to begin with. Perhaps 1% of houses had some kind of red-white-and-blue display up in front, including something as simple as a flag.

Every family is so damn paranoid and apathetic. My neighborhood and state is more or less all-white, too, so don’t bother bringing that excuse up.

If they’re so intent on corroding the sense of community and belonging, then fuck all these nuclear families. Their suspicious, sheltering parents and their stunted and socially stupefied children too.

Meanwhile the Pride Parade rolls into town, full of Peter Pan faggots prancing around in their underpants, and it’s one of the biggest festivals of the year. People are milling around everywhere, the attendance at the main parade is high, live music is playing, vendors are selling food, every fast food and drink place is packed in the aftermath, and it’s standing-room only on public trains.

Oh wait, I forgot that communal solidarity is less important than collectively giving neurotic queers a great big loving hug and reassuring pat on the head. Wouldn’t want them to commit mass suicide for falling out of the spotlight of attention for a couple days there.

They hold their parades around the same time as Independence Day… They must notice how happening their parades are, and how weak the Independence Day ones are. It’s only a matter of time before they go for the jugular and officially hold their Pride Parade on July 4th. Really, what would these flaccid families with their pseudo-conservative family values do about it?

National “Pathology = Health” Day, coming to an apathetic town near you.

The homos do the same thing in Toronto, having their Pride Parade just before Canada Day, on June 30 (Canada Day is July 1), having had over a week’s worth of various activities, from June 21 onwards, with two parades – a dyke march at the beginning, and their big parade the day before Canada Day. And Toronto itself doesn’t have a Canada Day parade, though one neighbourhood in Toronto does.
