It looks like a pretty nice image of a beautiful castle; I hesitate a little to praise the image because the photograph is in a style, I think, that’s risk-fraught.

    • The picture is “risk-fraught”? Not sure what you mean by that.

I’m not knowledgeable at all on photography, but it seems to me there’s a lot of bad architecture because it photographs well from certain angles, which satisfies a lot of egos. The super high contrast and exaggerated colors bother me in the image bother me. The green of the grass is too bright. The blue of the sky looks unnatural. The earthier tones of the building are not the muddy soft look that makes brick buildings look good. The texture of the building’s exterior is a bit disguised by the lens’s distance — it looks flat to me. The angle is a bit strange — I guess I’d prefer a few photos and some detail photos in a less screamingly bright digital style. I’m not learned here at all, so some patience or trying to figure out what I mean from the wiser folks here would go a long way.

      • Oh, I see. Yeah, I guess the picture is a bit too HDR. And photographing the castle thru the tree is a bit distracting. Still, I thought it was a nice building.

I think you’re right that there’s a lot of bad architecture because it photographs well from certain angles. Not sure that characterizes this pic, tho, IMHO.
