New Note Discovered

It’s pretty much official now.  When you sing the national anthem and you get to “the land of the free”, you have to add that extra high note in to milk it for all it’s worth.  For this we can thank an oversupply of melismatic singers for opening day events.

    I think of that extra high note as something for target practice before the kill shot in the middle of the final note. I get all my calibrations done during the high note: wind speed and direction, distance, parallax, etc.

    It’s because of Whitney Houston and other black diva types. She started burying the melody in a thicket of irrelevant melisma IMO
