What’s the best movie theme music?
Not exactly your question but the closing title theme to Blade Runner is one of the most perfect ever.

You would have to go a long way to beat this stuff, in my opinion – late ’50’s – early ’60s westerns…
anything from Ennio Morricone
Superman.
I vote for Lord Love a Duck http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPdp2MH19dY. My absolute favorite theme music for a movie.
The Bad and the Beautiful, score byDavid Raksin.
Here’s my list of the 170 greatest movie scores. http://www.filmicability.blogspot.com/search/label/170%20greatest%20movie%20soundtracks
Jaws, of course. Although, when I watch Sophie’s Choice, which I do every few years, I burst into tears as the opening strains of the theme music commence. So perhaps it’s a tie. Jaws and Sophie’s Choice. I’m complicated. Sue me.
‘The Bad and the Beautiful, score byDavid Raksin” That’s really good, never heard that before…
The Pink Panther: no need for a youtube – everyone surely can call it up from his memory in a trice.
Philip Glass’ Mishima theme is the best. No contest. The whole soundtrack is superb.
