Peter O’Toole and Audrey Hepburn, posing for “How to Steal a Million” (1966). On the face of it, it seems like strange casting, but to me, they are magic in this film. Ethereal male and ethereal female, both up to no good.

    Isn’t that poster completely fab? And I was scarred, in a god way, by Hepburn’s riding goggles and hat in this film. I am absolutely sure she couldn’t see a thing … but she was unbelievably chic. Oh, THAT’s the word I’m looking for. She and O’Toole were chic as hell. The same insouciance. Which would be necessary, you know, for anyone who intends to steal a million (using a paper airplane).
