   Are those real paintings or digital prints wallpapered on? Any idea?

     I’m pretty sure they’re digital prints (very high-quality ones, tho) that have been wallpapered on. At least that’s what it looks like from ground level.

   The Venetian is the last of the casino-hotels that brought something exotic and crowd-pleasing to the Strip. An outlier from the last 20 years, really, when the trend has been away from spectacle and toward urban sophistication, cosmopolitan status-striving, and bling-bling. (Like how they gutted most of the Ancient Egyptian stuff inside the Luxor and turned it into generic Mid-century modern revival.)

   Just about all the casinos have an ’80s soundtrack going (gotta keep people’s energy level going!), but it’s more New Wave-y and synth-poppy at the Venetian. Perfect match for the carnivalesque atmosphere.

   The influence spreads next door to the Palazzo, which being even newer should have been like the other Sex and the City creations of the 21st century. But it had to harmonize with the Venetian, so it wound up pretty cool.

   Obvious digital prints. Cupids usually hold cute little bows, but not here. I cant make out what the reclining lady is doing – where is her second leg? Why couldnt they fake something better?
