- There’s plenty that isn’t great in this documentary about bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman but I enjoyed watching it anyway. Coleman’s a very touching character, the glimpses of the bodybuilding world are fascinating, and the other champs who comment are smart and charismatic guys. It’s currently watchable on Netflix.
- Thumb’s up to this newish Roger Scruton book, a guide to the history of post-Enlightenment conservative thought. Scruton is in helpful-professor mode here, setting aside his own thoughts and convictions in order to provide the most vivid and useful quick introduction possible. How I wish I’d had teachers like him.
- For a more personal and moving recent Scruton reading experience, I recommend this beautiful book.
