Women: younger (say, half my age), Men: in my age range or older

I love having friends from a broad range of ages. A nice thing about the West Coast is that that just tends to happen — people in the East tend to stick a little more to their own kind and age, I’ve found. With people my own age there’s a lot of shared experience, which is great. With people of other ages, there’s a lot of wisdom, energy, and different experiences to be enjoyed.

All I care about are common interests. Age isn’t much of an issue.

I like having friends from a broad range of ages. I won’t say that bullshit line about age being just a number, because that isn’t true; with increasing age often comes perspective that one can’t have as a young whippersnapper, but not always; in any case, I enjoy the company of both those older and younger than myself, and those close in age. That applies for both men and women, for different reasons, though, obviously. 😉

My dad couldn’t wait to move to a retirement community with all folks his age or thereabouts. Not for me.
