Question I’m completely unable to answer: Why wasn’t I into Mark Knopfler back in his Dire Straits days?

I can ask the same question. I dismissed a lot of somewhat “mainstream” artists then that I enjoy now. But a lot of performers from back in the day have a kind of charisma that’s not seen much today; this video is a case in point. He seems totally natural up there, like where else would he be but onstage with his geetar.
