“One Million Years B.C.”

Paleo Retiree writes:

Fun, easygoing cavegirl/caveman adventure stuff from 1966, featuring a young Raquel Welch wearing an iconic animal-skin bikini. One group of early humans is slim, calm, well-organized and clean — they’re like Scandinavians, only they live on the beach. The other group is dirtier, darker, and prone to causing trouble and fighting. Shot in the Canary Islands, which look like Death Valley; with dinosaur-battle effects by Ray Harryhausen; directed by Don Chaffey; and produced by Hammer Studios. It’s a remake of a 1940 film. Not currently available on Netflix streaming, but the DVD only costs $8.15 at Amazon.

Tech Question

Paleo Retiree writes:

Is “rooting” a device the same as “jailbreaking” it? What are the advantages of doing either thing? And why would a gadget’s manufacturer NOT want you to monkey with your gadget in these ways?
